Shawna Renee is a dual-career professional with an education background in both healthcare and the cosmetology field. After almost a decade in the health field predominantly in Obstetrics and Gynecology, a fellow art enthusiast turned entrepreneur encouraged Shawna to do something with her art. As a childhood visual arts student, she has always received some fulfillment from art. She attended classes at the Maryland Institute College of Arts, Baltimore School of Arts, and participated for a brief period in a program with the Children Theater of Arts.
Although she decided to focus on a career in health care, she continued to use art as a means to express herself. Her favorite expression art form was makeup and fashion. Makeup became such as staple piece that her patients/coworkers often recognized her even with a surgical mask on. As life change for Shawna, so did her career path, which inspired her journey to self-taught makeup artistry. She began studying education media on pioneers such as Sam Fine, Francois Nars, Kevyn Aucion, Iman, and Bobbi Brown. She took what she learned in her faces and figure class and applied it to manipulating the face. Color theory and watercolor painting applied it to blending, building, and diffusing colors applied to the eye/face.
